Drone Medical Delivery Proof of Concept
A proof of concept for drone delivery of medical items, run to test whether aerial logistics could improve supply distribution across Kenya's harder-to-reach counties.
Last-mile delivery of medical supplies into remote areas with poor or no road infrastructure — where delay can be the difference that matters.
Astral Aerial ran multiple test deliveries, maintaining reliability and payload integrity throughout. Data was collected on delivery times, route efficiency, and system performance, alongside direct engagement with local healthcare facilities and county stakeholders.
What it achieved.
Drone delivery completed in 12 minutes versus 45 minutes by vehicle
Overwhelmingly positive stakeholder feedback, with Kwale and Kilifi county representatives in attendance
Demonstrated that drone delivery can significantly improve the speed and reliability of medical supply
Validated the case for scaling aerial delivery for critical-supply accessibility
