Privacy policy.

This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, who else is involved, and how you can exercise your rights. We have written it in plain language.

Who we are

Astral Aerial Solutions Ltd ("Astral Aerial", "we", "us") runs this website. Our office is at Western Heights, 2nd Floor, Westlands, Nairobi. For anything in this policy, email operations@astral-aerial.com.

What we collect

• Analytics data, from Google Analytics 4, and only if you accept analytics cookies. This covers the pages you view, roughly where you are (country or city), the type of device and browser you use, how you reached the site, and whether you click our phone and email links. It does not include your name or contact details.
• Information you send us directly. If you email or phone us, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us. This website has no contact form.

Why we use it

• To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it.
• To respond to enquiries about our drone services, the Training Academy and consultancy.

Cookies and your choice

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you accept, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. If you decline, nothing is sent to Google Analytics.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser:

• _ga tells Google Analytics that repeat visits come from the same browser, so visitors are counted correctly. It lasts up to two years.
• _ga_ followed by our measurement ID keeps track of the current visit. It also lasts up to two years.

We have turned off Google Signals and ad personalisation. We do not run advertising and we do not set advertising cookies.

You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies and stops further analytics.

Other organisations involved

• Google processes analytics data on our behalf. Google may process this data on servers outside Kenya. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Maps. The map on our Contact page is loaded from Google. When that page loads, Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies, whatever you chose about analytics. This is covered by Google's privacy policy.
• Our hosting provider, Netlify, handles standard technical records, such as IP addresses, that any web host needs in order to deliver and secure a website.
• Social media. Our pages link to X, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Those services have their own privacy policies.

How long we keep information

• Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
• Emails and notes of phone calls are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to keep reasonable business records.

Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask us to:

• give you access to the personal data we hold about you;
• correct personal data that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete your personal data; and
• stop using your personal data, if you object to how we use it.

To make a request, email operations@astral-aerial.com. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can. We may need to check who you are before we act on a request.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya at odpc.go.ke.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
